| Rep. Mike Rogers (R, Bizzaroland) is horribly confused, disrespectful and bellyaching about being in the minority. Emphasis mine.
Despite President Barack Obama's commitment to bipartisanship, Rogers says Speaker of House Nancy Pelosi (whom he described as "crazy," "mean as a snake" and "Tom DeLay in a skirt") and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid didn't get that memo.
"They don't talk to us," he said. "They've got the vote, and they can do what they want."
Rogers said to be fair Democrats are paying Republicans back for how they were treated when the Republicans controlled Congress.
"Republican leaders didn't talk to the Democrats," he said. "The attitude was 'We have the votes on our side, let the Democrats whine.'"
Calling a woman -- any woman, but especially Speaker Pelosi who is a mere two heartbeats from the presidency -- "crazy" and "mean as a snake" is inexcusable. Mike Rogers needs to issue an apology and he needs to do it yesterday. And last time I looked Nancy Pelosi hasn't been indicted for anything, so that kind of cuts into Rogers' Tom Delay analogy. As for the whining about being on the losing side when the votes are counted, I don't remember Mike Rogers standing up demanding more rights for the minority when he was in the majority party. No integrity and no credibility on that score. Mike Rogers: He can dish it out but he can't take it. And he's rude to boot. |
