Kim Drake for Alabama Court of Civil Appeals The final hours of this Election Year tick away. Some elections seem all ready decided. Others are not. Every one worth their salt is going to keep working until the last vote is counted. The Alabama Court of Civil Appeals holds jurisdiction over appeals in workmen's compensation cases and domestic relations cases. This includes child custody cases, divorce, annulment, child support, adoption and alimony. Kim Drake, of the Drake Law Firm in Cullman, a mother and business woman who represents the best of Alabama and truly believes in our values. Kim Drake’s opponent is William Thompson. Kim’s Campaign; On Tuesday, Oct. 21st, Kim Drake appeared at the Democratic Judicial Fundraiser and Candidate forum. This event was held at the Birmingham Botanical Garden’s. She appeared along side Clyde Jones (Court of Criminal Appeals, Place No. 1), Aimee Cobb Smith (Court of Criminal Appeals, Place No. 2) and Deborah Bell Paseur (State Supreme Court). Congressman Artur Davis (7th Congressional District of Alabama) spoke. It was a good event and offered a good chance for Kim to meet people. Kim has conducted interviews with the Cullman Times, Huntsville Times, Birmingham News, Mobile Press-Register and WVAS-FM. Kim Drake, her husband Tom Drake, Campaign Manager Robert Sullivan and other supporters have been hammering up signs to everything vertical in the state that can have a nail driven into it. TV ads supporting Kim began airing this weekend. Last weekend, Campaign Manager Robert Sullivan attended the Birmingham Magic City Classic and distributed campaign materials for Kim at the event. A special thanks goes out to John Powe and the Obama Headquarters in Jefferson County for letting us tag along. And during all of this, Tom and Kim Drake continue to work and operate as parents, lawyers fighting for the little guy, and people of sincere faith.
