Whether or not you braved the malls yesterday for Black Friday, please remember to remember your local businesses today on Small Business Saturday. The jobs, taxes and profits generated by local stores stay in our communities and, while they can't afford to offer the insane bargains of the big box stores (you know they only had one of the giant TVs for $24.99, anyway) these businesses have a lot to offer in terms of selection and personal service. Many small businesses are offering special deals today, so there's an extra incentive to skip the mall and go small.
If you're out and about today, please consider shopping small. It's a recipe for healthier communities.
