Jena Malone stars as a teenager attending a Christian high school who, "believing that Jesus will restore her purity," sacrifices her virginity in an attempt to restore her (gay) boyfriend's heterosexuality ... with predictable consequences and complications. The boyfriend is played by Chad Faust. Macaulay Culkin (the cute kid from the Home Alone movies) also makes an appearance in Saved!, along with Martin Donovan who plays a skateboarding pastor. Yeah. Who knew missionary work could be done via skateboard?
Saved! is part of the LGBT/Racial Justice Film series organized by Greater Birmingham Ministries. The event is free and open to the public. Bring your friends for a fun evening this Thursday, Aug. 9th.
