The scary part

(There is no such thing as 'enough' for robber barons. They want it all. - promoted by mooncat)

I dont agree wirh Romney being called a flip-flopper or being portrayed as not very bright. Honestly, I know what he will do if he becomes president, support himself by supporting the greedie$t. He is one of them. Before there were regulations (like the ones Republicans have been chipping away at) we called the greedie$t ROBBER BARONS. It is a more accurate term than "the 1%". The Affordable Health Care Act or Obama Cares may have been modeled after a law he signed as governer, but that state is liberal. At the time the greedie$t in his state supported it. Now that his aim is for president, the greedi$t donators dont like it. (I dont understand why, maybe because health care and education are equalizers.) So he is being very consistant in rejecting it. The only flip-flop he has done on immigration is to get the latino vote in Florida. On women's issues, affording birth control isnt their problem and abortion rights, well they have always had them. They can afford to fly thier girlfriend or daughter to a European country where abortion is legal and safe. We know the greedie$t use dollar$ to make more dollar$ not more jobs. When you have inconsistancies in court testimony it is used as proof you are lying to the jury. I dont think Romney is stupid or that he is flip-flopping. I call it what I see it is - LYING. Romney knows what the truth is, but that would never get him elected. There may be many people who dont recognize the manipulations of Mitt Romney and the Republican party. If we underestimate the power of the Republican agenda, we have already lost.

Here's how feudal societies work: (4.00 / 1)

There's one set of rules for the ruling class and another, much harsher, set of rules for the masses.  The scary part is that GOPers like Romney have figured out how to get poor to average Americans to willingly vote in an over class that cares less than nothing about most of them.

Thanks for this post.  It needs to be said a lot between now and November.

Work harder and work smarter!

What you say mooncat is true (4.00 / 1)

and scary so much that I am nervous about this next election.  I wouldn't vote for Ron Paul, but he is principled, possesses ideals, ones too far.  Yet some are humane, some not so systemically.

Romney has one ideal mentioned, wealth which gives the power to acquire more wealth.

Why so many poor and middle folk vote for such Robber Barons is the belief that they may win the lottery, become such monsters, and dont want their wealth taxed and redistributed.  Why would someone poor and middle class spend twenty dollars or more on lottery tickets?

I will throw away a dollar on a lottery ticket, dont believe I'll win, but there is that inner voice which says, what if you do.  That voice makes gambler zealots who may vote for Romney.

Qui bibit, dormit; qui dormit, non peccat; qui non peccat, sanctus est; ergo qui bibit sanctus est.

Romney is the ultimate flip-flopper (4.00 / 1)

Great diary except for the flip-flop part.

 In 2008, Romney said:

"Man-made pollution was contributing to a planetary warming trend,”
In Romney’s 2010 book, "No Apology", he wrote:
“I believe that climate change is occurring. … I also believe that human activity is a contributing factor.”
 This past June he said:
“I believe the world’s getting warmer. I can’t prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe that humans contribute to that.”

And then, a couple of months ago, out of the freekin blue, he said:

”My view is that we don't know what’s causing climate change on this planet."

Scientific laws are non-negotiable. If 2+2=4 today, it will also do so tomorrow.

October 2012 was the 332nd consecutive month with a global temperature above the 20th century average. The last month with below-average temperature was February 1985. - N.O.A.A.

Flip-flopping (0.00 / 0)
Absolutly true, but I dont believe his personal opinion is changing.  He just changes what he says depending on the polls and his audience.  I just dont call that flip-flopping.  We dont know what he really thinks and is planning to do so at least 50% of what he is saying is a lie.
