The God Curse Catches Up With Rick Santorum

Oh darn! Turns out God called Rick Santorum to run for President. It's the kiss of death for Sweater Vest Guy's hopes to be the GOP nominee.

Remember, God also "called" Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry and Herman Cain to the campaign trail, but neglected to call voters and ask them to support those 'godly' candidates.

Coincidentally, Santorum is now trailing Romney in Michigan and Arizona, a sure sign Santorum is falling from favor with the Anybody But Romney crowd.

Either God's a real joker or it's somebody else whispering in the ears of these self-righteous GOPers.

Is it any wonder Jon Huntsman is calling for a third party?

I would've been a bit snarkier. That picture was taken after someone asked, "Sen Santorum, how big is your weiner?" (The follow-up question, of course, being "Is that the real size or the internet size?")

Of course, Rick is a follower of God, so he jumped into the race. Romney would have arranged a divine donation to the super-PAC, and Gingrich would have put Him on hold.

Does anyone else remember the Saturday Night Live skit from back in the 80s - it was about the time when Oral Roberts put out a fundraising ask that said unless he raised some amount of money, God was going to "call him home"?

Charlton Heston was the guest host, and one of the regulars played Oral Roberts. The skit opened with Oral praying about his fundraising predicament, and then suddenly a door pops open to reveal a shadowy figure, that in Charlton Heston's unmistakable voice asks: "You got the money?"
