White people in Alabama

Is Morris Dees intended to be a class or a specific person (0.00 / 0)

Because I (and a lot of other who blog here) am white, but don't believe item #1 or #2 is an appropriate fit.  Looking for another category.

If you had said "I have not given aid and comfort to the enemies of equality, and here's why: a, b, and c" you might feel unfairly put upon. Can you say it?  You certainly didn't.

It's not up to me to lift  you up out of your discomfort at my remark.  It's up to you.

My son and daughter say (0.00 / 0)

that to use white and black is racist. They are much more enlightened than I am.  I fall into the convenience of using white and black, though I think of myself as an individual.

How many folk really and truly perceive others as individuals all the time?

I believe that revbob attempts, though clumsily, to make the point that if the enlightened folk risked as much as Mr Dees that Alabama would be in a better state. 

Excuse me for this mdrash on revbob's diary:

In Alabama there are racists, those who aid and abet racists, by their apathy, token stands against them, or doing something commendable but not enough, and Mr Dees who lets it all out in the cause of justice.

Though clumsily stated, you got the point, I believe.

No, the burden is on you to back up, or at least explain, your original assertion (4.00 / 2)

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, that you aren't saying all white people are either segregationists or segregation enablers. 

Segregation is all about judging people by skin color alone.  Don't fall into the trap.  We're individuals.
