Last night, I was listening again to Bill Moyers' eulogy for Barbara Jordan for the first time in a year or more. I woke up this morning thinking about democracy and progressives. Here's one of the things I wrote:
WE BELIEVE in helping each other. We believe that we are all in this together. We believe that government is NECESSARY, and not inherently evil, at least not until it's taken over by those who hate democracy. We believe in the idea of US, not just "some" or the priviledged few, but US. We believe in union and unions. We believe that we all do better when we all do better. This is what makes us liberals. This what makes us progressives. This is what makes us strong.
