Parker Griffith Has No Friends -- & His Constituents Will Suffer for It

by: mooncat

Parker Griffith lost his committee assignments 6 weeks ago.  He didn't realize switching parties would automatically forfeit his seats on the House Transportation and Science & Technology committes and he neglected to make an ironclad (or even aluminum foil clad) deal with the Republicans before making the jump.

Democrats won't help Griffith -- what about his new friends on the conservative side?  Here's conservative radio host Will Anderson:

Help Keep Griffith Off Of Committee's

Contact House Minority Leader John Boehner and ask him to keep Psuedo-Republican Parker Griffith off of any committee's.

We are so screwed.

I'm still relieved he isn't a Democrat anymore.

Parker Griffith Has No Friends -- & His Constituents Will Suffer for It (4.00 / 1)

It should be easy pickings for the Democrats in the AL-05. What do the Republicans have? Parker "the lost dog" Griffith and two political spammers. (both Les Phillip & Mo Brooks will tell you they don't like illegal immigration, problems with the economy and such but have no ideas of what they would do) They think they can win by ignorantly throwing around the words: "socialism" and "I'm here to fight Pelosi."

I'm just glad the elections are not too far away. Taxation w/o representation is not how I prefer things.

I suppose when Griffith loses in the primary this summer, he will once again try to be the mayor of Huntsville in the 2012 election. So early congradulation to Huntsville mayor Tommy Battle for winning your upcoming re-election. LoL!

July 2010 was the 14th consecutive July with sea ice extent below average. July 1996 was the last year that had above-average sea ice extent. N.S.I.D.C.

When Griffith loses ... (0.00 / 0)
He's going to be so unpopular he might as well just move.  Rumor has it that he and his wife were being socially shunned by Republicans while he was a Dem -- wonder if they're more welcoming now that he's given up his committee seats?

Work harder and work smarter!

Griffith shunned first (0.00 / 0)

Mooncat:

I used to work for Dr Griffith. I supported him in 2008. I ran into him at the space museum after his healthcare forum in 2009. I suggested that he should watch the film "Earth 2100" (free online) before making any decisions about coal useage, climate change and such. He turned away and ignored me. I'm sure a lot of Democrats had shunned Griffith before December 22nd because he would'nt give 10 seconds of his time to anyone that supported him.

Don't you need a candidate? (0.00 / 0)
Last I checked there was no candidate on the Dem side and no strong ones in the rumor mill.

[ Parent ]
There are several good ones in the rumor mill (4.00 / 1)
But the grapevine may not reach all the way over to your place.

Work harder and work smarter!

Name names! (0.00 / 0)
Who are these great candidates?  When will they get out and start building up $ and name ID?

Wait for the diary (0.00 / 0)
It wouldn't be right to make an announcement like that in a comment.

[ Parent ]
Pins and needles! (0.00 / 0)
Local Dems keep saying "wait" and suggesting there are some real big names in the hopper.  Such protracted claims give the impression that there are no big names in the hopper and that you're just biding time hoping someone credible jumps in.

Relax, Brian (4.00 / 1)

PG is on such a media hot streak right now it would be a shame to take the spotlight off him.

Is Peanut in?

I don't think this is true.... (4.00 / 1)

He didn't realize switching parties would automatically forfeit his seats on the House Transportation and Science & Technology committes

He can't be that stupid. He took for granted the repugs would take him in with open arms and find places for him instantly, but they didn't. No one wants him.

You damn him with faint praise (0.00 / 0)

He took for granted the repugs would take him in with open arms and find places for him instantly, but they didn't.

A Democrat would have to be pretty damned stupid to assume a welcome in the Republican Party after the bitter sniping and attacks they have levied on elected Dems in the past decade or so.  I think either way you look at it, Griffith is either lacking in sense or just lazy.

Work harder and work smarter!

[ Parent ]
Agreed. I just think the liar part of him outweights the stupid part of him. (4.00 / 2)

and also outweighs.... (4.00 / 2)
she who lives in glass houses shouldn't throw stones about stupidity.

[ Parent ]
And isn't it amazingly significant and ironic that as soon as Griffith does this (4.00 / 2)

the NASA reorganization and program closures are announced?  Its kind of like that one time your car insurance lapses you have an accident. Or the parent of the toddler found in the middle of the street who says, I just turned my back for a second....  Or dare I say it, the month that you are between jobs and health insurance you have a heart attack.
