Can I demand the return of the small contribution I gave him as a Democrat to a Democrat?  Could all of his contributors file a class action suit?  Blech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's just another Richard Shelby, determined to get power and keep it.  He must think the Republicans will take back the House in 2010.  I hope the voters of his district send him home.

I'm still trying to get back my initial vote for Richard Shelby, (4.00 / 1)

when he ran against Jeremiah Denton (R-wingnut) in 1986.  I still remember shaking his hand on a street corner in downtown Birmingham when he was campaigning -- as a Democrat.  I wouldn't spit on him if I saw him today.

Seriously?!  You guys are shocked over this one?  He's been a Republican for a while now, guys.  Did any one of you seriously expect him to vote with the Democrats on anything?  We've been calling him a Republican for a while now.  I suppose he might as well make it official and then see what his chances are now that he's showing his true colors as a fraud.

Bright doesn't really need to switch (4.00 / 1)

He's voting just exactly the way he ran -- as a conservative who would not vote the party line.  Last time I checked, Bright voted with his party less than any member of Congress.  If he switches it would actually hurt his argument for re-election: that he's a straight shooter who will do what's best for his district.

Griffith's problem is that his voting record is nothing like his supporters expected.  That became a problem for him and now he's trying to woo a whole different group of supporters.  Will they buy it?
