Huntsville Tea Party today (0.00 / 0)
Just received this: JOIN US TO PROTEST THE PROTESTERS! The Huntsville Tea Party is holding an anti-healthcare reform event today in the downtown area.  Let's show Huntsville that we WANT healthcare reform. The country is in crisis -- and we actually have a plan that will work -- it's called "Medicare for All."  Those fat-cat health insurance executives and their outrageous profits (going into the campaign coffers of our complicit Congress people) must go! When:   Wed., Nov. 4.  @  4:00 - 5:30 PM  (Join us after work!)Where:  Near the downtown Post Office on Clinton Ave.Bring:    Bring signs, or we'll have extras for you.Directions:  From Memorial Parkway, take the Clinton exit. Go towards downtown. The post office will be on your right.  However, see parking instructions below.Parking:   We have approval to park along Woodson Street in the gravel area. When traveling towards downtown on Clinton Ave, then Woodson St. is the first left (it is before you get to the post office). Remember ... there should be no interaction with the Tea Party people. The police said they haven't had trouble with this group in the past, but please ignore anything they say to provoke you. The police (who are providing our permit) will be present to keep the peace. PLEASE JOIN US!  See you there!!

Work harder and work smarter!

i suspect there will be some counter-protesters (4.00 / 1)
And I suspect I'll be one of them.  I need to start a sign collection so I'll be prepared for any and all right-wing invasions. :)

Those asshats are going to be where? (4.00 / 1)
That's an insult to those who died during the Civil Rights Movement for those asshats to be using that park for their foolishness.  I hope nobody shows up and if they do the local businesses and their patrons in the historically black 4th Avenue District let them know they aren't wanted...

"It is what it is."

Who issued them a permit to use Kelly Ingram Park? (4.00 / 1)
I agree, it's an insult to not only those that were hosed and attacked by dogs during the Bull Conner era, but an insult to the local business and patrons in the historically black 4th Avenue District.  That said, I hope the local business and patrons ignore the teabaggers and not confront them, because that's all they will need to start some mess.

The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives and the dreams shall never die.~Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D. MA)

Anyone wanna (4.00 / 1)
Bust out with some Billionaires for Wealthcare songs with me?

Because I love any excuse to break into song, especially if it involves serenading the tea party obstructionist funtime train.

I just composed a song for the teabaggers, but... (4.00 / 1)
it is not suitable for publication, since it starts with the original definition of "teabagging" Maybe I'll sing it in Montgomery,

A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
