Strom Sanfod Update!  Sanford says mistress is his soul (pun intended)  mate but he is going to TRY and fall back in love with his wife!!!

The Eye Rack Eees are finally dancing in the streets for our troops!  Unfortunately, 4 more of our troops were killed on the eve of the turnover.  Of course Dead Eye Dick, who has been DEAD WRONG about everything is crying the blues.  Here's an idea, send Dick and his cronies to stay the course in Eye Rack.

Strom Sandford (r. teabagger, hypocrite  South Carolina)   and his Lolita Speak Out.  But wait!  There maybe MORE WOMEN!  Looks like the media has replaced Strom Sanford with a new golden boy.  Strom Sandfords' unmarried, childless friend and one of his sons' godfather, Lil Lindsey Graham proves that republicans care more about their political careers than they do the people they are supposed to represent by saying Sandford can save his career if he "reconciles with his wife".  Strom Sanfords' wife Jenny said he "could worry about his own career".  You go girl!

All Politics is Local and ADECA finally decides to apply for stimulus money in the black belt.  Rove will be questioned behind closed doors  about allegations of improper political influence in the agency during the administration of former President George W. Bush, including whether Rove had any role in encouraging the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.

What's on your mind today?

Finally? (4.00 / 1)

It took Rove this long to get his lies straight? Is he under oath or on a waterboard behind those closed doors?

The Conyers Judiciary committee, in my opinion, has botched this thing from way back. They should have called some of the other folks who Jill Simpson says was on that phone call (who could claim no immunity) and built the pressure for Rove to come before Congress in the setting of its choice and be grilled publicly.

Jesus, what did Will Rogers say again about being a Democrat?

Money may be the Mother's milk of politics, but it is the arsenic of Democracy.

Hate that Will Rogers quote (0.00 / 0)
It's uncomfortably accurate.  I've been wondering why they didn't call some of those other participants, like Rob Riley for instance.  Any chance that it's because there is no corroboration for Simpson's account of the call and it would just end up being she said/he said?  One of them would obviously be lying, but how to prove which one?

Work harder and work smarter!

Under Oath (4.00 / 1)

In one of the hearings, Rep. Davis brought out Simpson's phone bill that showed that she was on a 12 minute call with one of the parties who denies ever talking to her. Anyone can deny when not under oath, but get them under oath and it's a different story.

Commonsense would count it pretty suspect if someone on a call about doing what was alleged, says, "I don't recall having that conversation" to a question about whether they were talking about "getting Siegelman." And taking the fifth would be an almost gotcha moment.

Clearly there was a plan to prosecute Siegelman out of office, just as there was motive means and opportunity for this all to happen. If there's nothing there it will show itself, but getting these folks on the record, and most importantly, under oath, would have helped clarify a lot in this matter.

It's bizarre that this has not taken place to this point.

Money may be the Mother's milk of politics, but it is the arsenic of Democracy.

Is Simpson lying??? (0.00 / 0)
That would be easily solved...and has been. She has phone records. What do you have?

I'm thinkin' the only purpose Dick Cheney serves... (4.00 / 1)
is that as long as he lives, Karl Rove and others cannot be the most useless piece of crap on the planet.

I think its the biggest travesty of justice since O.J. walked for the murder of his ex-wife (4.00 / 1)
Is Dick Chaney, Carl Rove and GW Bush not doing hard time for all the crimes they commented while in office....imo Chaney and Rove deserve the death penalty.

BREAKING NEWS FROM MINNESOTA; FRANKEN WINS!The Minnesota Sur (4.00 / 1)

And now, a few minutes ago, Norm Coleman conceded. (4.00 / 1)

I guess that clears the path at long last.  Franken is the comedian, but Coleman and Pawlenty are the jokes.

Coleman and Pawlenty are jokes that are so not funny.

Is it really that hard to spell out "Iraqis" or are you just trying to be funny?

Just me trying to be funny jarrod, (4.00 / 1)

As you are fond of saying "lighten up".  Actually I spelled Eye Rack Eees the way Bu&h prounounced it.

Bush said the Eye Rack Eeees will dance in the street for our troops.

Bush said the Eye Rack Eeees would throw flowers and candy at our troops.

Bush said Mission Accomplished in Eye Rack.

Bush said he was liberating the Eye Rack Eees from an evil DICKtator.

So the funny spelling was a parody (0.00 / 0)
And unlike some right wingers, Redeye knows what it was a parody of --  George W. Bush, Worst President Ever.

Most conservatives have a problem admitting that....imo because (4.00 / 2)
you have to be pretty stupid to have vote for the imbecile to start with....I mean, its not like everyone woke up one day and realized Bush was an idiot....it was pretty clear he was that the minute he opened his mouth.

It was only clear (4.00 / 1)

Bush was an idiot and he was wrong about WMDs in Iraq... (0.00 / 0)
but you have to give some credit to the change of course made in Iraq. Initially, I very strongly doubted that the "surge" would be successful.  It seemed like we were throwing American lives away for no good reason.  But the combination of the Anbar Awakening, the unification of Iraqi paramilitaries against Al-Queda in Mesopotamia, and, yes, the US troop surge calmed down Iraq an awful lot.  Yes, there are still incidents of violence in Iraq, but it has gone from a total clusterf*** to on violence on par with most other developing Middle Eastern countries. And yes, Sadaam Hussein was an evil dictator, but Bush never claimed that was the reason for the Iraq war until long after the war had began.

[ Parent ]
You're right bluebearcat, (0.00 / 0)

George W-ar Bush never claimed the reason we were going to war in Iraq was because Saddam was an evil dictator.  Bush said he had proof of tons and tons of WMD in Iraq and Saddam was about to use them on us.  Bush also said there was a connection between Saddam and 911.  Both of those claims were totally false.

Saddam denied any connections to the "zealot" Osama bin Laden, cited North Korea as his most likely ally in a crunch, and shared President George W. Bush's hostility towards the "fanatic" Iranian mullahs, according to the FBI records of conversations from February through June 2004 between Saddam and Arabic-speaking agents in his detention cell at Baghdad International Airport.

Sorry, but I can't give credit to the "change of course in Iraq".  Over 4,000 American soldiers died on Iraqi soil.  Countless innocent Iraqi men, women and children were killed.  I can't give "credit" for that.
