Your new year date your birth date and mine my birth date (November 3)the real new year date, individual, and not even shared exactly by a twin.

I never really felt much emotional attachment to the collective civil new year date.

I say birth date because your birth date and birthday not always same.

Count birth dates I'm 70; count birthdays I'm 10.

This notion of mine the ultimate political statement; I perceive what's real, most folk dont.

The cynical pretend and use the true believers.

I resolved on November 3rd to not hit folk who
have much less melanin who talk the good old days to my face, in my face.

Fewer folk do bad acts now than, say, two hundred years ago.

During my youth even, there existed in Alabama the possibility I'd be killed if I look at a picture of Ingrid Bergman in a magazine store, so guilty of the felony of breathing while black.

I have punched more liberals than conservatives for the "good old days" lie. The conservatives were aware that I am not pacific. They were not, so figure since I associated.

I expect my friends and allies to perceive the real, not the mythical, such as a deity that does magic in our lives, personal magic. The magic never protected the miscreants who violated my No good old days rule.

I believe that the One supported me in this,heh, so protected me from human law. Never arrested, never even charged, I felt the self righteous awe similar to that of the religious right nowadays.

I dont want to live like them.

I resolved to change the Good old guy
behaviour of my past on November 3rd.

It's difficult. One day

at a time.

Change is difficult and we do get far more enraged by the non-support of our allies than by others.

There's a great book called "Confederates in the Attic" - maybe you've read it??? Anyway, the writer is Jewish and at one point he goes to (I think) a mostly-black community group that's doing some organizing. And be becomes absolutely enraged by some of the anti-Jewish stuff that the leader say to him. Later, he reflects on how he listed to the KKK-type leader spount the same kind of crap without blinking, but somehow it was far more hurtful coming from someone he would have thought of as an ally.

I never want to be one of the liberals you feel the need to punch. I bet you have quite the "left" hook! :-)

I'm violent. I am bothered by the way discussion of violence goes, proposal to investigate video games and other art. Ever read the Jewish bible and Christian, Homer, other classical works and authors, great British, and American great writers? Art limns our violence; we are animals, not an insult just fact. We are great apes as told by molecular biological data, which added to the genetic, proves we and our nearest kin are great apes.

Religious sensibilities prevent our reading this in most , if not all textbooks. I asked my pa when about eight or nine about evolution and god; he said, that's how god did it.

We fill in the blanks as we learn more.

We are a violent species, and American members of the species even more so. Our literature, visual arts, and other cultural artifacts reflect that. We were violent, even more violent than now, before we could write, produce literary works such as the Illiad. Males more so. We suffer from testosterone poisoning.
